Mokvena's reaction to being eliminated from the Nedbank Cup

Rulani Mokkwena, the head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns, believes Stellenbosch earned the 2-1 victory because they were ousted from the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
In his 24th game in command, Mokwena suffered his first loss as the head coach as Iqraam Rayners scored twice in the second half to cancel out Lee Langeveldt's own goal.
It brings Sundowns' winless streak across all competitions to five games, and they haven't won since being named the 2022–23 DStv Premiership champions.
After the game, he said on SuperSport TV, "Let's just congratulate Stellenbosch and wish them all the best for the rest of the cup, today we didn't deserve to win and that's competitive sport, if someone is better than you, you put your hands up, congratulate them and wish them all the best.
They were not much better, but they were better.
"Today we lost a lot of duels from the first minute, but it's good to continue as we congratulate Stellenbosch and wish them all the best."
The Stellies have joined the Orlando Pirates in the last 4 events and the champions have been eliminated in the last 8 events.
